Dies academicus 2025

Every summer, all members, alumni, friends, and patrons of the University of Hohenheim celebrate the Dies academicus with traditional highlights.

The centerpiece of the Dies academicus will be the student booths in the Palace courtyard. Following tradition, the festivities will beginn with the tapping of the keg. Those who want to enjoy a special summer evening in front of baroque palace backdrop can celebrate in the Palace courtyard until late at night with musical entertainment and a variety of international delicacies.

Keynote speech

 

Prof. Dr. Jeanette Hofmann is a political scientist at Freie Universität Berlin and a founding director of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG). She also heads the research group “Politics of Digitalization” at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Her work focuses on the interplay between digitalization and democracy, the societal impact of artificial intelligence, digital governance, and internet policy. Prof. Hofmann is an active member of various academic committees and contributes her expertise to political advisory processes, advocating for a more inclusive digital society.
